STOP BEING A SMALL GLASS

A wise man once came to his disciple, and found that his disciple’s face was like a thunder cloud.

“What happened with you son? What makes you loose your joy?”, the wise man asked.
“Teacher, my life is getting harder and harder. Problems comes in and out everyday”, the disciple replied.
The teacher smiled, “Son, get me a glass of water and two scoops of salt”

The disciple did the order.
“Will you just put one scoop of salt in the water”, the teacher said, “and drink it”.
The disciple did what the teacher asked him to do, then he felt he wanted to throw the water out from his mouth.

“How does it feel?” the teacher asked.
“Really salt. I am sick”, the disciple replied.
The teacher smiled. “Now, you follow me”. He took the disciple to the lake near where they sat.

“Take the rest of the salt in your hand, and spread it to the lake”
The disciple directly did it. He didn’t want to ask anything. The salt is still in his mouth.
“Now, will you just drink from the lake water”, asked the teacher as he looked for a stone to sit on.
The disciple took the water in his two hands and drink it.
Suddenly the cold water refreshed his throat. And the salt in his mouth suddenly disappeared

“How do you feel now?”, the teacher asked.
“Fresh, ….really fresh”, the disciple replied.
“Can you feel the salt in your mouth?”, the teacher asked.
“No…, not at all”, the disciple smiled.

“Son”, the teacher said. “All the problems in the world are like a scoop of salt. Not more, not less. It is just a scoop of salt. God has measured the problems in everyone’s life. It also fits to you. Only for you. The amount remains all the time.
No one in the world can avoid problems that have been set to him. Even a prophet”.

The disciple listened. Quietly.

“But son, the salt feeling really depends on the capacity of the glass.
Therefore, if you don’t want to feel too much sorrow in your life, stop being a glass. And start being a lake”.
